At last I here you all cry, our unbeaten run finally came to an end on Saturday, but only just though!

Oldershaw were ready and fired up for the game on their main pitch as their 1st XV were at Buxton. All of them ?? not sure. We however didn't seem to be as fired up, probably down to an 8 game unbeaten streak.

The game was incredibly tight and evenly balanced, and the weather conditions helped no one! Howling wind and rain made for difficult ball control and handling errors crept in from both sides.

Oldershaw took advantage of a turn over Oldershaw sneaked in front, 3 -0. I will point out that this was the first time all season Wirral had been behind at any point in any game!

Wirral then some how managed to concede a dubious scrum just before half time. The ball was kicked through and in the middle of the dead ball area, a Wirral player kicked it dead. 22 drop out to Wirral I here you cry, not so according to the REF ! Scrum to Oldershaw ! From the resulting scrum Wirral conceded a try. Oldershaw 8 - 0 Wirral.

Second half was too little too late for Wirral it was only then that we decided to start playing. Oldershaw dug themselves in and refused to budge ! Despite Wirral being camped on their line Oldershaw did not yield. 1st team know how had obviously been involved and through discipline and hard work denied Wirral a score until the death. Not sure which forward dived over under the posts, not doubt all of then will claim it but after the conversion from Proudy the ref blew the final whistle ! Winning run over.

However as a team we played some good rugby and defended as a team! time to get up brush ourselves off and bring on the next game!
