Lucky number 7!!

Well this was a confusing game.. With players for the opposition simply picking which game to participate in whenever they felt like it..

Anyway down to it, well what I can re-call..
After last years visit to the land of the RED Squirrel, and a chance to avenge the 52-26 defeat with only 9 and three guests. Wirral went to maintain our unbeaten start to the season and go one better than the 1st XV.
Leaving the club with a full compliment ! we arrived at the club in sunshine little expecting the deluge later on in the game.

Crosbys Capt Tony Olson had been worried about fielding a team early on Friday evening and was thinking of calling the game off, so much so that the league already had it listed as a concede early Sat AM. Needless to say after a conversation with our vice chairman we agreed that Wirral would travel regardless of Crosby's numbers and make a game of 10-9 or what ever. By sat lunchtime, local miracle worker Tony 'the wizard' Olson had conjured up 11 players. As mentioned Wirral leant them 3 star players, Young Greg Fields, El Presidente and young Glen it was 15 v 14. Game on !

First half, had the sun against us with clear blue skies but solid all round team play saw tries from Luke Gee(2), Franklin (2)Styles, and both Beamish's (guest appearance's)Danny and younger brother Liam with further scores for James Savage with a smouldering Proudy adding a single conversion.

Second half things got a little bit wet with the heavens opening and dropping all of Septembers and Octobers rain onto the pitch in the space of 20 mins (thank god I was not washing the kit).

Even though handling was not its best with a slippy ball (Mr Longford) we continued to press with TJ going over twice, Luke completing a four some (sounds a bit suggestive doesn't it)think that makes him Wirral's top try scorer and leagues top try scorer, Franklin completing a hat-trick (not far behind Gee in the try scoring stakes and Proudy adding one, with the guests getting a further one each.

Just a quick note, there were a couple of entrants for DOTD, and the bright Pink suit, Mr Longford was way out in front but was pegged back by Jamie Norman on his return to the team who let the ball slip from his fingers when clean through. However Dave Longford managed to grasp that fetching Pink Onesie back with his juggling act just short of the line.
