After the sad folding of the 4s a couple of seasons ago, the club has lacked a place for the entry level senior player - those who fancy giving it a go, returning from injury or returning from a bout of common sense semi-retirement! This season, we are attempting to have a monthly fixture for the social / occasional player.
Saturday 5 October saw 25 players turn out against a spirited Christleton team, themselves a victim of the weekly grind of league fixtures and now just an occasional team. The squad was a mix of new players (many of whom from the M&J under 9s coaching team), injury returnees, friends and family of players and a sprinkling of 3rd team regulars.
The game itself is largely incidental on occasions such as this, but there were some great tries amongst the 10 scored. Final mention for Lewis Stevenson, with one of the most horrendous examples of jug evasion ever seen, taking himself off with a mild scratch after scoring two tries!
